What makes us different?

At Lantern School, we specialise in supporting learners from Grade 1 to 12 who experience specific learning barriers. As a dual-medium remedial school, we offer instruction in both English and Afrikaans, following the mainstream GDE CAPS curriculum. Our goal is to help learners achieve the necessary progress to reintegrate into mainstream education when appropriate.

We maintain small class sizes to ensure personalised attention and tailored support for each learner. Classrooms are equipped with smart boards, and many also feature FM systems to enhance auditory learning by projecting the teacher’s voice clearly. Our holistic approach includes dedicated learning support, as well as access to speech and occupational therapy at the primary level. Both primary and high school learners benefit from the guidance of on-site psychologists, ensuring emotional and academic well-being.

At Lantern School, we are committed to unlocking each learner’s full potential in a supportive and enriched learning environment.

How we support your child

At Lantern School, we are dedicated to creating a supportive and inclusive environment tailored to the individual needs of students with learning challenges. Our approach emphasizes small class sizes, allowing us to provide personalised attention and the necessary resources for each
child to excel academically.

We strive to cultivate a vibrant learning space that promotes engagement and fosters a deeper understanding of the material. Beyond academic support, we offer speech and occupational therapy services for primary school students. Both primary and high school learners also have access to on-site psychologists, ensuring they receive the emotional and psychological care they need.

Our goal is to empower every student to overcome their challenges, reach their full potential, and achieve their educational aspirations.
